Scout Camp 1962–62

There was a scout troop based at the school in the late 1950s and 1960s, the 9th Aberdare (Grammar School) Senior Scout Troop. The skipper was D. Colin Davies, an old boy of the school 1942—1948, assisted by Detective Sgt. Idris Jones. Numerous activities were organised, and the picture below was taken just north of Llandovery when the troop had set up camp at some time during the 1962–63 academic year.
The scout using the blowpipe to stimulate the fire is Leighton Jones, who contributed the photograph.
