Aberdare Girls’ County School
The Library, 1938
from School Archives
From Left to Right: Joan Eves, Nan Davies, Marjery Hill, Winifred
Jenkins, Dorothy Callaghan, Mair Lewis.
(For some unknown reason the chair on the left at the back of the library, has
the royal GR surmounted by the crown embroidered on the backrest.)
The Library sometimes had a staff member with responsibility for it. In 1925 the person
with responsibility was Miss Kate Roberts, who
later became well known as one of Wales’ foremost writers. She taught at Aberdare
Girls’ County School 1917–1928
