The Girls Gymnastic Competition Shield has, at its centre,
an engraving of the girls performing coordinated gymnastics or drill.
Eagle-eyed former students may recognise the headmaster’s house, School House in Trecynon, in the background.
This was because the shield was presented before 1913 when the school was mixed
with both boys and girls at the Hirwaun Road school in Trecynon.
