Aberdare Girls School,
14 July 2014

The well known front main entrance doors, with
the name of the original school, the ‘Intermediate School for Girls’, carved in stone above.
According to John Newman, in The Buildings of Wales: Glamorgan, the building is ‘executed in
coursed, squared Lias limestone with much Bath stone ashlar’ - the latter carrying the carved ornamentation.
The inner doors are decorated with extensive stained glass.
