Stone Carving on Front of Building.
The Stone Carving in Bath Stone on the Front of Building.
Newman, in “Buildings of Wales: Glamorgan,”
describes the building as “Quite a distinguished Arts and Crafts composition,
symmetrical, executed in coursed, squared Lias limestone with much Bath stone ashlar
... ”
The Bath stone is used to frame doorways and windows etc., whilst the large areas
of limestone give the building its overall light-grey appearance.
