The Winter’s Tale
The Warwick Shakespeare
Blackie and Son Ltd, London and Glasgow.
This book was used for the School Certificate examination in English Literature
in the 1940s (the School Certificate was superseded by the GCE O-level which was introduced
in 1951). The book includes a Boys County School stamp on the
inside
front cover. The book itself has no date of publication printed in it so we can
only state that it was published probably before 1945. We’ve copied a few pages below,
some of which have annotations written by the owner during his school days.
