Aberdare County School Sports.
The annual sports of the boys and girls of the Aberdare County School came off on Thursday, at the New Athletic Grounds, kindly lent by the Athletic Association. An excellent programme of sports had been arranged, but, unfortunately, rain fell unceasingly all day. The committee of the sports consisted of Mr. W. Charlton Cox, M.A. (headmaster of the school), Mr Ogwen Williams, F.R.G.S. (senior assistant master), Mr. W.R. Williams, B.Sc., Mr. J. Edwards, B.A., Mr. D. Jones, B.A., Mr. J.E. Sladen, B.A., and Mr. A.W. Elliott, B.Sc., and the officers and committee of the football, cricket and tennis clubs. The hon. sec. was Mr. Dd. Roderick. Mr. Fred D. George was starter, and the judges were Messrs. F.J. Caldicott, G. V. Jones, and Dr. W.Ll. Rhys.

The champion prize for the competitor having the largest number of marks throughout the day was captured by Trevor M. Williams, who also secured gold medal given by Mrs. Cox.
The prizes were distributed, in the absence of Mrs. D.P. Davies, Ynyslwyd, by Mrs. D. Daniel, Llwydcoed. The headmaster (Mr. W.C. Cox) and other gentlemen assisted in the arrangements.
Refreshments were supplied by Mr. W. Hill, Aberaman. The tent had been kindly lent by Mr. D. Jones, Cowbridge Arms.
