D.T.H. Price’s Class in 1939

David Thomas Herbert Price and his class; sitting next to him, with the mortar board, is the headmaster W. Rees Williams who was about to retire.

D.T.H. Price was a staff member at ABGS 1937–48, but with a break from September 1940 to April 1946 when he joined H.M. Forces. He was appointed to teach geography to School Certificate level and geology to the Higher Level.

He was brought up in Sennybridge, and attended Brecon County School 1925–1932. He studied geography at UCW Aberystwyth where he gained a first-class degree in 1936, followed by his Diploma in Education in 1937.

He left ABGS in the summer of 1948 to become headmaster of Aman Secondary School in Godreaman. His vacant post at ABGS was filled by (Long) Tom Evans.
