A.L. Trott was a staff member at ABGS 1931–46. In addition to his history teaching, he taught Art throughout the school.
As a boy he attended Neath County School then attended U.C. Swansea, 1925–31, winning a first-class degree in history. Much later in life he was awarded an M.A. (1941) and M.Ed. (1946).
He left Aberdare County School in 1946 to take up a lectureship at Llandrindod Wells Emergency Training College. From there he moved to UCW Aberystwyth to be come a lecturer in education.
