War Casualties

Douglas Barnes died 13 July 1944 aged 28. He is buried in Bolsena War Cemetery, Italy.

Cyril Abraham died 31 March 1941 aged 24 on board H.M.S. Bonaventure. He is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.

Russell Hardie Lewis died 6 May 1941 aged 25 on board H.M.S. Camito. He is commemorated on the Liverpool Naval Memorial.

David Martin Morgan died. 21 July 1944 aged 27. He is buried in the Taukkyan War Cemetery, Burma.

Gwynfryn Evans left school for the London School of Economics.

William Llewn John George became an ordained priest.

Ebenezer Francis Thomas left school for the Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff.

Glyndwr Griffiths Glyn stayed in Aberdare and became a newspaper reporter. He eventually became Deputy Editor and finally Editor at The Aberdare Leader.

John Lewis left school for the Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff.

Arthur Hughes Price, (1912–1931), was the son of W.W. Price, doyen of local historians, and headmaster at Blaengwawr Elementary School. Arthur died a young man in his late twenties having contracted polio.
