Clifford Harrett Harries, (1904–69), became chairman of the NUM Glynneath Branch, and was President and Chairman of the Glynneath Welfare Social Club. He was a member of Glynneath Bethel Baptist Chapel where his father Rev T.C. Harries was once the minister.

Morton William Evans - Although there is a Morton W. Evans on the WW1 Memorial Plaque, the M.W. Evans on the 1918 entry list is not the casualty. This Morton joined the GWR in Aberdare and transferred to Old Oak Common in 1929 as a Fireman.

W. E. J. (Jack) Davies died aged 31 in 1937. He was Chairman & Secretary of the local NFU, represented Wales in clay pigeon and won numerous Welsh competitions in this sport. In 1932, he married Catherine A. Rhys of Gellydafelws Farm, Penderyn. She outlived her husband by 67 years, dying in 2004. Jack's early death attracted a very large number of mourners at the funeral that took place at St Cynog’s Church, Penderyn.

Thomas Llewellyn Moses and Lewis Clifford Moses - their father was a manager of a gunpowder works. They lived in Pontneathvaughan.

Victor Wynn Jones was a brother to Trefor Jones, who has an entry in Former Pupils section of this website.

Richard Norman Berry

R.N. Berry

Richard Norman Berry was the son of the AUDC councillor, photographer and retired fire brigade captain R.L. Berry and his second wife Jane Elizabeth née Lowe. His grandfather was the Victorian photographer J. Lendon Berry. Richard gained three distinctions, in double maths and physics, in the 1924 Higher Certificate examinations, and proceeded to King’s College London to study engineering. He married Muriel Marshall of Ilkeston, Derbyshire, in 1934 at a wedding ceremony in Nottinghamshire. He became an electrical engineer living in East Horsley, Surrey, and had posts at Raleigh Industries, Nottingham and as Assistant Engineer at the Central Electricity Board, Banstead. He died in 1953 in East Horsley, and was buried in the Parish of Ilkeston.

Merfyn Walter Davies became a priest in the Anglican church - he was a brother of Mansel Davies who has an entry in Former Pupils section of this website. He died October 1978 in the Swansea area.

David Lloyd Emrys Evans, (1907–91), was a son of Evan Emrys Evans, founder of the chemist shop situated in Victoria Square, Aberdare. His maternal grandmother was Mrs Walter Lloyd, (Mary Smith Lloyd), who in 1913 opened the new Girls’ School in Plasdraw and received a gold key from the architect.
After gaining a very good result at the Senior Stage of the CWB examinations, in 1922 at the age of 15, he transferred to Bishops Stortford College, Hertfordshire.
D.L.E. Evans remained in Aberdare and managed the business after his father’s death in 1941. His brother, Walter Gordon Emrys Evans (1904–63), was a priest and his last post was as Rector of Wilton near Salisbury, 1957-1963.

W.W. Notton’s father became headmaster at the Town Council School, (later Caradog School).

H. Noel Thomas - Left school after the fifth form for Christ College Brecon. His father was a chemist in Aberaman, and Noel also became a chemist with premises at 25 Whitcombe Street. His wife, Enid Stuart Thomas, was a mistress at Mardy Central Church School, and secretary of AGCS Past Student Association.
