The Dare Valley Ponds
The Country Park is close to the site of the old Bwllfa Collieries. These
pictures show the ponds and wildlife that you will see on the walks that lead
from The Dare Valley Centre towards the colliery sites, (Bwllfa 1 & 2). For
ambitious walkers, there is a sign not far from The Centre that points towards
the mountain; it says "Margam"!
Apparently if you follow this you will ascend both the Darren Mountain
and Craig-y-Llyn, the mountain above Llyn Fawr, which is 1968 feet (600m) above
sea level. This is part of the long distance walk called The Coed Morgannwg
Way.
