The back of the school as it is today
These photographs were taken from near the top of Broniestyn Terrace where the school wall curved sharply around at the top of the playground. Part of the remaining playground wall is seen on the right. The gap in the wall is where the toilets known as the dubs used to be. The term 'dubs' is an Australian or New Zealand slang term arising since the 1940s simply meaning a lavatory, it's an oral abbreviation of W.C.
