This booklet contains a history of the school to 1946 written by the first Headmaster Mr W. Jenkyn Thomas.
The school was co-educational until 1913 when the separate Girls’ School was founded and the book includes a few pictures and a short account of the history of the Girls’ School written by the first headmistress Miss M. S. Cook.
The booklet hasn’t preserved very well (through no fault of the owner), and some of the photos proved especially difficult to scan, but the content is still a treasure worth preserving.
This copy was sent to us by Bob Williams who was at the school from 1946 to 1951
when his family emigrated to Australia.
He still lives there, near Melbourne, having retired from a teaching career.
