‘Songs of the Fleet’ (Stanford), and ‘From the Bavarian Highlands’ (Elgar).
This was the fourteenth concert in the series. As usual, there were miscellaneous items and on this occasion two main choral works: Stanford’s ‘Songs of the Fleet’, and Elgar’s ‘From the Bavarian Highlands’. The conductor was Mr. T.R. James and Miss Jean Lindsay provided the continuo. There were three soloists: Roderick Jones (Baritone), Ivor Gritton (Horn) and Morgan Lloyd (violin). Morgan Lloyd also provided the orchestra for the occasion.
