Boys whose index number starts with a ‘1’ were members of the group that started school in 1971,   i.e. upper sixth.
Boys whose index number starts with a ‘2’ were members of the group that started school in 1972,   i.e. lower sixth.
Boys whose index number starts with a ‘3’ were members of the group that started school in 1973,   i.e. fifth form.
Boys whose index number starts with a ‘4’ were members of the group that started school in 1974, i.e. fourth sixth.
This does necessarily imply that a given boy started at school in 1971, 1972 etc., as he might have transferrred to the school at a later date.
