Sunday Services as notified in The Aberdare Times of Saturday, November 28th, 1896.

Attendance at church or chapel was probably a requirement for many of the school pupils in the 1890s. Here is a list, probably contributed, of the churches & chapels and their locations in the Aberdare area offering services.

However, as Alan Vernon Jones points out in his most impressive book1, there were 180 non conformist chapels in the valley if you started from Abercynon and counted as far as Rhigos. The list below is therefore far from being complete in listing the available services in even the Aberdare area.
