If you wanted to celebrate passing your O levels by visiting the "pictures", you could read about what was showing in this review from the Aberdare Leader of August 18 1962. It mentions The Palladium, The Rex, The Welfare Hall Cwmaman, and The Grand Theatre Aberaman. No mention is made of the cinema in Hirwaun nor the Aberdare Cinema in Cardiff Street, suggesting that they had closed by this time.
